Our Story
Founded in 2015, Pan-African University Press (PAUP) emerged from a pioneering collaboration among universities and scholars across Africa, Europe, and North America. Our vision is to amplify underrepresented academic voices and provide a global platform for African-centered research and perspectives.
At the heart of this initiative is Professor Toyin Falola, Chairman of our international editorial board, and the Jacob and Frances Sanger Mossiker Chair in the Humanities at the University of Texas at Austin. Alongside an esteemed board of scholars—including Hakim Adi, A.B. Assensoh, Mojúbàolú Olufúnkẹ́ Okome, João José Reis, and Alinah Kelo Segobye—PAUP champions the decolonization of knowledge production while fostering cross-continental collaboration.
