He is author and editor of more than one<br \/>\nhundred books, including Encyclopedia of the Yor\u00f9b\u00e1 (IUP, 2016), The Yor\u00f9b\u00e1 Diaspora in the<br \/>\nAtlantic World (IUP, 2005), Yor\u00f9b\u00e1 Warlords of the 19th Century (AWP, 2001), and The Yor\u00f9b\u00e1 Gurus: Indigenous Production of Knowledge in Africa (AWP, 1999).<\/p>\n<p>Ak\u00ednt\u00fand\u00e9 Ak\u00edny\u1eb9m\u00ed is Professor in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures and<br \/>\naffiliate faculty at the Center for African Studies at the University of Florida.
