A regional viewpoint on the South African diaspora’s contribution to the historical processes of southern and eastern Africa may be found in The Road to Democracy in South Africa, Volume 8, Part 1: South African Diaspora in Southern and Eastern Africa in Precolonial Times.\u00a0 The movement and impact of South Africans in what are now Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique are explicitly analyzed in this volume, which places these migrations within the larger demographic, political, and economic shifts of the nineteenth century.<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n
